Sigma Delta Phi sorority at Montclair State
University was founded in 1947. As the years have passed the campus has undergone many changes, yet Sigma
has remained strong for over half a century.
As a local sorority we have the ability to truly lead our organization,
while still adhering to the University's Student Government and Greek Council regulations. Sigma Delta Phi prides
itself in its strength of diversity. Rather than expecting new members to fit some arbitrary mold, they hope that each member
is unique, bringing something special into the mix.
Many of the sisters of Sigma Delta Phi participate
in many community service projects in our local community. Most recently, the sisters put in many hours locally at the community's
animal shelter, food pantry and also the children's daycare located right on campus! In April the sorority participated in
walk to help improve the health of young children called the March of Dimes.
Our mascot is the Pink Panther! Our colors
are pink and black!
In addition to our social activities with organizations at Montclair State, Sigma
also has a big brother fraternity, Kappa Xi Kappa, at New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Sixty-One years and still going strong!
